Home Upgrade helps you identify ways to strengthen your home’s energy efficiency. You'll learn how heating, air conditioning, insulation, water, and other systems can all work together to effectively reduce energy consumption and reduce energy costs. Rebates and incentives are available for home improvements that include air sealing; duct sealing; attic insulation; high-efficiency furnaces, cooling systems, and water systems; wall insulation; and more.
Home Upgrade has a network of specially trained participating contractors in the Bay Area. Participating contractors use advanced diagnostic tools to assess your home’s energy usage and recommend improvements throughout your home. You’ll put your home on the right track to a healthier, energy-efficient outlook when you contact a participating contractor to schedule a comprehensive home energy assessment.

A Home Upgrade Advisor is available to help you create an energy efficiency shape-up plan to transform your home into the best it can be. Home Upgrade Advisors are Building Performance Institute certified energy efficiency professionals who can work with you every step of the way before, during, and after an upgrade so you don’t have to sweat the details. If you choose, a Home Upgrade Advisor can provide direct one-to-one assistance to inform you about energy efficiency options, help you select an appropriate contractor, and help you navigate project installation and financing processes.
Energy Upgrade California® Home Upgrade program provides assistance and incentives for home improvement projects that can reduce energy use and make homes more comfortable. This statewide program is managed locally by utilities and regional energy networks and directed by the California Public Utilities Commission in collaboration with the California Energy Commission. Funding comes from utility customers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission. Incentives are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are effective until funding is expended or the program is discontinued. Programs may be modified or terminated without prior notice.
